Well folks, it's that time of year again when the Reverend launches into one of his tirades about the The Recording Academy, the Grammy Awards, and blues music. Longtime readers will already know this sad story, but with the release of the 2010 Grammy Award nominees, it's time to again bring up the argument that blues music is being short-changed. Blues has a grand total of two - count 'em! - two categories, whereas offshoots like jazz music enjoy six award categories, gospel music seven. Is it really too much to ask that The Recording Academy expand their blues categories? Heck, even Latin and related styles have six categories for nominees.
